One of the ways that we reflect the royalty within is to partner with individuals and organizations that we believe shine bright.
Individuals who have a personal style that exude royalty that is evidenced in their daily mission.
Organizations that encourage the Youth of our community to seek their inner royalty by offering platforms that empower academic and economic excellence, while teaching the principles of supporting local community.
Below you will find individuals and organizations that we believe are doing some amazing work within their communities. We have decided to partner with them to support their efforts by customizing one of the Royal Tie Life’s handcrafted items for use with fundraising.
Check out the summaries. Visit the organization links.
We hope in doing so that you will also be inspired to support the wonderful work that they are doing.
DJ Malachi (IG: @djmalachi)
DJ Malachi has been a staple in the Bay Area dj community over 20 years,
Born and raised in Oakland on a diet of black music courtesy of his father,
his name is synonymous with soul music. Whether dj'ing in the Bay Area or across
the US., Malachi always delivers the message soulfully correct
We grew up grooving to DJ Malachi and have admired both his personal work ethic and style flare. His LUV LUV Movement DJ Mix’s and his ice cold sneaker game...smh. He definitely reigns in style!
We asked Dj Malachi about why he likes bow ties: “...their unique signature, the way they lay and the fabrics! Nothing screams out 'Belafonte’ more than a bowtie!”
DJ Malachi, a true King and OFFICIAL member of Royal Tie Life.
We think DJ Malachi is pretty Belafonte’ himself! Check him out:

DJ Big Russ (Twitter: @biggruss)
The name, Russell “Big Russ” Gatewood, has been synonymous with the Bay Area music scene for nearly 25 years. His fingerprint can be traced on almost every aspect and genre dating back to the ‘80s.
His career began when Hip Hop showed him that turntables could be a musical instrument. He took that inspiration and ran with it, learned the craft from legends, spearheaded a local DJ collective and quickly became one of the more popular DJ’s in the region.
As the ‘90s began, he (along with his long time business partner Rick Patrick) became an entertainment staple in the Northern California with, The World Famous Rick & Russ Show. The Rick & Russ Show received instant acclaim and was immediately successful. Over the years, “DJ Big Russ” has skillfully blended artistry with technology and professionalism. His attention to detail makes him the “go to guy” when a huge impression must be made. We have found that to be true, not just with his incredibl DJ’ing, but with his unique and dapper personal style.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority San Francisco-Peninsula Alumnae Chapter’s Betty Shabazz Academy
San Francisco-Peninsula Alumnae Chapter’s Betty Shabazz Academy and Delta GEMS is a dynamic group of young ladies ages 11- 18 years old. Through the Delta Academy and GEMS program, the chapter is committed to providing quality programming geared to the well-rounded development of young girls in our service area. The participants meet each second Thursday and some Saturdays every month during the program year.
Each month’s activity is focused around a theme such as: self-esteem, health, technology, financial fortitude, and service among others. These themes are explored through interactive games, group discussions, poetry, guest speakers, artistic expression and song. When these young women complete our program, many enroll into colleges or universities, like Raven Taylor, who was a Delta GEMS and is now one of SFPA Chapter’s scholarship recipients. The ultimate goal is to make a difference in the lives of these wonderful young girls so that ultimately, they too can make a difference in the lives of others.
Delta Academy has taken many forms. In some chapters, the Academies are after-school or Saturday programs; others are weekly or biweekly throughout the school year; and still other programs occur monthly. At a minimum, chapters plan and implement varied activities based upon the needs of the early adolescents in their areas. The activities implemented most often include computer training, self-esteem and etiquette workshops, field trips for science experiences and for college exposure, and special outings to cultural events, fancy dinners, museums, plays, and concerts.
A natural outgrowth and expansion for the continuation of the highly successful Dr. Betty Shabaaz Delta Academy: Catching the Dreams of Tomorrow, Delta Gems was created to catch the dreams of African American at-risk, adolescent girls aged 14-18. Delta GEMS provides the frame work to actualize those dreams through the performance of specific tasks that develop a CAN DO attitude. The goals for Delta GEMS are:
● To instill the need to excel academically
● To provide tools that enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success;
● To assist girls in proper goal setting and planning for their futures high school and beyond; and
● To create compassionate, caring, and community minded young women by actively involving them in service learning and community service opportunities.
